Avatar reels — a reel with your AI avatar from someone else's viral video

Paste a link to a viral reel — Craft rewrites the text for your brand, voices it in your voice, generates your avatar and edits the finished reel. Currently in closed beta.

Updated: October 21, 2026

Avatar reels live in Content factory → Avatar reels. The feature is in closed beta, so the tab is visible only to beta participants.

Step 1. Upload your avatar#

Upload a video of you talking to the camera once. Craft builds both your avatar and your voice from it.

  • 1–2 minutes of speech, calm, like a regular reel. We won't accept less than 15 seconds.
  • The camera stays still and you sit. The model repeats the source's movement, so walking turns into jerks.
  • Your face is well lit and your mouth isn't covered by a hand or mic, otherwise the avatar's face distorts.
  • Quiet surroundings. Music and other voices end up in the voice clone.
  • At the start and in pauses, stay silent for 2–3 seconds with lips closed.
  • Keep gestures below your face. A repeated gesture becomes the avatar's habit.

After upload Craft checks the video in a minute and, if something's wrong, says what on the card. Then it prepares a sample phrase in your voice — press "Hear the voice". The first server start takes up to 15 minutes.

Only upload your own face, or the face of someone who has given written consent to an AI avatar.

Step 2. Choose the kind of reel#

Scenario What you get
Viral reel → avatar The other reel's footage on top, you below saying the same idea for your brand
Your file → avatar The same, when the link won't download — upload a file
Your text → avatar The avatar says your script full screen
Voice-over only The original reel with new text in your voice, no avatar — faster and cheaper
Editing only You already have an avatar video — we stitch it with the reel, captions and an offer

Step 3. Check the text and approve#

Craft downloads the reel, transcribes it (from any language) and rewrites it for your brand, using the brand profile from your settings. The original call to action ("comment the word…", "follow") is removed and replaced with yours.

Nothing is charged up to this point. Read the text, edit it and press "Approve and build". You'll see how many seconds it comes to and how many credits it costs.

Keep the length close to the original so the avatar matches the footage on top.

Step 4. The finished reel#

Voice, avatar and editing are put together automatically in 3–10 minutes, and you can close the page. You can then watch, download and publish the MP4.

Offers at the end of the reel#

In the Offers tab, upload short clips with your call to action: book, buy, visit. Every finished reel gets a random one of those switched on, which makes it easy to test which call to action works best.

ElevenLabs voice#

By default Craft voices reels on its own server. For an ElevenLabs voice, paste your key in Settings and switch the voice on the avatar card. Voice-over usage is then billed to your ElevenLabs account.

If something goes wrong#

  • "Couldn't download the reel from the link" — the reel is private or deleted. Upload it as a file.
  • "No speech found in the reel" — the original is music only. Choose "Your text".
  • "Not enough credits" — the reel won't start until you top up.
  • An error during generation — credits are refunded automatically; press "Retry".
  • The avatar's face distorts — reshoot the source following step 1. Lighting and a hand near the face are the usual causes.

From Claude or ChatGPT#

With the Craft MCP connector you can ask: "make a reel with my avatar from this link". The AI shows you the text and the price and starts the build only after your "yes".
