How to get funnel leads in Telegram — to yourself, a teammate or a shared chat

The "Send a notification" step delivers a lead with the person's name, username and phone to you, a salesperson, a group or a channel.

Someone left their phone number in your funnel — now the person who is going to call them needs to know right away. The "Send a notification" step sends the lead to Telegram: to you, to a teammate, to a work group, or to all of them at once.

How to set it up#

1. Add an Action step to the funnel and pick "Send a notification". It usually goes right after the question where the person shares their number.
2. Write the notification text — for example, "🔥 New lead for the course". You can leave it empty.
3. Keep "Add the person's name, username and phone" switched on — the details are placed at the end of the notification for you.
4. Under "Who gets it", tick the recipients.
5. Press "Send a test" — each recipient shows "delivered" or the reason it didn't arrive.

Who you can send it to#

Recipients can be combined in any way.

Yourself, in a private message. The notification is sent by your funnel's bot. Your Craft account needs Telegram linked, and you need to have pressed Start in that bot once.

A group or channel. Handy when several people handle leads: everyone sees the lead and who picked it up.

1. Open the group in Telegram and add your funnel's bot as a regular member.
2. For a channel, make the bot an admin — otherwise it can't post there.
3. Go back to the step settings and press "Refresh list" — the group appears, tick it.

Other people. For example, a salesperson or an assistant. Start typing a name or username in the search field and pick the person.

What the notification contains#

Your text, followed by the person's details:

If the person has a username, a "Message this person" button appears under the notification and opens a chat with them.

You can also insert details into the text itself: {{first_name}} for the name, {{username}} for the username, {{phone}} for the phone, and any variable from your questions. Whatever you already put into the text is not repeated below.

Good to know#

• The notification comes from the funnel's bot. You don't need a separate bot for leads.
• If it doesn't arrive, you learn why. If the bot was removed from the group or a teammate never pressed Start, you get a private message with the reason and the lead itself, so it isn't lost. A reminder about the same recipient comes at most once every 12 hours.
• A group became a supergroup. Telegram changes the chat number when that happens. Craft picks up the new number by itself and leads keep arriving.
• In a group with topics, notifications go to the General topic.
• Up to 10 chats and 20 people per step. This is a work notification, not a broadcast.
• Instagram funnels. The notification to yourself arrives through the Craft assistant bot. To send leads to a group or a teammate, pick your Telegram bot in the step — groups and people are taken from it. Such a notification has no username and no "Message this person" button: an Instagram contact has no Telegram username.
• Older funnels work as before: the notification comes to you. It now includes the person's name, username and phone.
