Competitors — viral content, topics and account tracking
A shared library of viral Reels, TikToks, YouTube videos, Threads posts and carousels with filters, the topics that work right now, and competitor accounts Craft tracks for you.
The Competitors section answers the question “what should I post”. It holds a shared library of viral Reels, TikToks, YouTube videos (Shorts and long), Threads posts and carousels that grows with every search in Craft — yours and other people’s. Find what took off in your niche today or this week, see the topics that work right now, and put competitors on tracking — Craft will collect their posts and numbers by itself.
How it works#
- Shared library. When someone adds a competitor, searches a topic or analyzes a post by link, the creator and their posts go into the library and everyone can see them. The library grows on its own, and nobody pays twice for the same data.
- Tracking. Accounts that someone tracks are checked twice a day, and the numbers of every post are recorded. Other creators in the library are refreshed when someone opens them and their data is older than a day.
- Virality ×N — how many times more a post got than the creator usually gets. ×10 on a 5K account is the same “this topic worked” signal as on a million-follower account.
- Growth in 24 hours — how many views a post gained over the last day. The “Viral today” preset is built on it.
- Niche, language, format and topic are tagged automatically and power the filters.
Inspiration tab#
A feed of viral content. At the top is search: a topic, a word from the caption or @author.
- Presets: “Viral today”, “Best this week”, “My competitors”, “Saved”.
- Filters: sort, “Viral” (3x+ better than the creator’s usual), network (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads), language, type (Reels, TikTok and Shorts; long videos; carousels; photos; text posts), duration, period, metrics (views, likes or comments from…), niche, creator size, format, saved folder and a specific account.
- Post card opens on click: numbers, topic, caption, link to the original. “Analyze and rewrite for me” sends the post to Post analysis.
- The heart saves a post; find it later with the “Saved” preset or the Folder filter.
By default the feed shows posts from the last 3 months, so fresh content is on top rather than hits from five years ago. Change it with the Period filter.
Search social media for new content#
If the library has little on your topic, type it into search and click “Search social media”. Craft will search TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Threads directly, show what it finds and add it to the shared library.
⚠️ Social searches per day depend on your plan: 3 on Free, 20 on Solo, 100 on Pro, 300 on Agency. Searching the Craft library is unlimited. If someone already searched the same query in the last 24 hours, the result comes from the library and your search is not used.
💡 Instagram Reels search works through search engines and cannot look “in the last 24 hours”. Craft finds fresh viral posts on its own through the accounts it tracks, so “Viral today” is most accurate for your tracked competitors.
Topics tab#
Craft takes the most viral posts for your filters (period, niche, language, network, “My competitors”) and groups them into topics. Each topic comes with why it works, a ready idea for you and example posts. Topics refresh every few hours.
Tracked tab#
- Click the “Add account” card and choose Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Threads.
- Enter @username or paste a profile link and click “Track”.
- Craft collects the account’s latest posts right away — it takes up to a minute. After that it keeps them updated.
Click an account card to open its breakdown: followers, typical views, posts this month, the creator’s topics, best and recent posts. “Analyze” asks AI to describe what works for the creator, which hooks they use and what to borrow.
⚠️ How many accounts you can track at once depends on your plan: 3 on Free, 15 on Solo, 50 on Pro, 200 on Agency.
🔴 You need a profile link, not a post link. A link like instagram.com/reel/… or youtube.com/shorts/… won’t work — paste instagram.com/username, youtube.com/@username or just @username.
⚠️ Private accounts are not shared by the network — the card will say “Private account” and show no posts.
Through Claude or ChatGPT#
If your Claude or ChatGPT is connected to Craft (MCP connector), it uses the same library. Ask, for example: “Find what’s going viral in real estate right now and suggest 5 Reels ideas”, “Start tracking @username” or “Break down this creator — what works for them”. Ideas are based on real numbers from your niche and your competitors, not guesses.
Not available yet#
- YouTube videos found by search have no likes until the creator is opened — YouTube search does not return them. Long videos are compared with the same creator’s long videos, Shorts with their Shorts.
- Threads has no view counts: the network does not show them. Sort by likes, replies and reposts; virality is calculated from likes.
- Instagram carousels have no view counts: the network does not show them. Sort carousels by likes and comments; their virality is calculated from likes.
