Attachments in funnel messages — photos, video, files, voice and round videos
What you can attach to a Telegram funnel message, how to send a voice note, a round video or one article-style message with headings, photos, GIFs, videos, lists, tables and buttons, and which Telegram limits apply.
Any funnel message can carry a file: a photo, a video, a document (PDF, Word, Excel, slides, archive) or audio. In Telegram, audio and video can also arrive the way people send them in a real chat — as a voice note or as a round video message.

One attachment per block. If you need to send both a guide and a video, use two blocks in a row.
⚠️ Documents and voice notes work in Telegram funnels. Instagram doesn't have these message types: there you can send photos, video and audio.
Step 1. Attach a file#
Open the message block, click "Add photo, video or file" and pick a file from your computer. It appears inside the block, where you can remove it with the cross and attach another one.
The caption is the text of the same block, and buttons are added as usual — both arrive together with the attachment.
Step 2. Send it as a voice note#
Attach an audio file and a checkbox appears under it: "Send as a voice message". With it on, the person gets the familiar waveform bubble instead of a player card.
Record the file anywhere, in any format from the table — we convert it to a voice note ourselves.
Step 3. Send it as a round video#
Attach a video and a checkbox appears under it: "Send as a video message (round)". The clip arrives as a round video message, like one recorded on a phone.
The clip does not have to be square — we crop a square from the center. If it runs longer than a minute, only the first 60 seconds fit; that is a Telegram limit, and the editor warns you about it up front.
⚠️ A round message never carries a caption. The block text arrives as the next message, with the buttons under it. That is how Telegram works, and it cannot be worked around.
Article — one message with everything in it#
In a Telegram funnel you can build a message like an article: text, headings, photos, GIFs, videos, galleries, lists, quotes, tables and buttons — all inside one message, in exactly the order you placed them. The block's own buttons — links and funnel branches — stay under the message and work as usual.
- Open the message block and switch "Message layout" at the top to "Article". The text, photo or video already in the block land in the first blocks.
- Click "Add block" under the list and pick what to insert. To put a block between two others or above the first one, hover over the gap and click +.
- Reorder blocks with the arrows; the cross removes a block.
What you can insert:

Variables like {{first_name}} work everywhere you type text: paragraphs, headings, list items, table cells, captions, button labels and button links.
Photos, GIFs and videos can be uploaded from your computer, or you can paste a link to the file — it must start with https://.

⚠️ A video from the standard version may not fit an article. In a standard message a video of up to 50 MB is sent as a file, but an article takes only MP4 up to 20 MB, by link. If, after you switch to "Article", the video says the file is over 20 MB, that video will not reach people in the article: compress it and upload it again. A clip that is not MP4 (for example, MOV from an iPhone) is not carried into the article — the panel tells you so; upload it as MP4 with the Video block.
Under the list of blocks you can see how many media and characters the message already has. If something does not fit the limits, the panel tells you in advance: Telegram would not show the extra part.
⚠️ Older Telegram apps may not open this kind of message. The person sees a placeholder asking them to update the app instead. If your audience often uses old phones, keep the essentials in regular messages.
⚠️ Media must sit behind a public link. Telegram downloads every file by its address at the moment of sending. If the link points to private storage, to a web page instead of the file itself, or to a deleted file, that photo or video will be missing from the message. Everything uploaded with the button in the block is already on a public link — nothing to worry about there.
💡 Your standard version is kept. Switch back to "Standard" and everything you had is still there. The article blocks are kept too and come back when you switch again.
⚠️ If Telegram rejects the message, we automatically send the same blocks as regular messages — as several messages in a row, with the buttons under the last one: - text blocks that follow each other arrive as one message: a heading as a bold line, lists as "•", "1." or "✅ / ⬜" items, a quote as a quote, a collapsible block as its title with the text under it, a table as lines separated by "·", a divider as a "———" line, the footer in italics; - photos and videos that follow each other arrive as an album, each GIF as a separate message (this backup sends no more than 5 GIFs); - buttons from the text go above the block's own buttons. If the block uses the menu at the bottom of the chat, the buttons from the text are not sent — the menu takes priority.
If text and media alternate many times, all media come first, then all the text. The person still gets all the content; only the look changes.
- Buttons inside the text can only open a link or copy text. To move people through the funnel, use the buttons under the message — they work as usual.
- Paste the full link for a button inside the text. We turn
t.me/bot_nameand@bot_nameinto a full address for you, and the editor highlights an address with no dot in the site name or with a space inside — Telegram does not take those. If Telegram still rejects a link, the article goes out without the link buttons from the text, and the reason shows up in the funnel errors. - If Telegram limits the message rate in the middle of sending them as regular messages, we do not send the rest, so the person gets nothing twice. The step still counts as sent, and the funnel errors show that the message did not arrive in full.
- Audio and files do not go into an article: put them in a separate message block. The panel reminds you when such an attachment is left in the standard version.
- If the blocks have neither text nor media, the message is not sent at all — the standard version does not go out instead.
- If the block uses the menu at the bottom of the chat instead of buttons, send the message to yourself first and check it.
- Broadcasts go out as standard messages: the Article layout exists only for funnel messages, not in broadcasts.
- Instagram has no such layout — messages there stay standard.
Worth knowing up front#
🔴 Some people do not accept voice notes and round videos. Telegram has a privacy setting that blocks them from strangers. For these people we automatically send the same file as a regular video or audio track — the content still arrives, only the form changes. Nothing to check manually.
⚠️ The first send is slightly slower. Voice notes and round videos are prepared for Telegram's format, so the very first recipient waits a few extra seconds. After that the file is sent instantly to everyone else.
💡 Your plan includes a storage quota for funnel files. Once it runs out, uploads stop working — delete files you no longer use or change your plan.
What is not available yet#
- You cannot attach several files to one block — use several blocks.
- An article cannot hold audio or documents, and buttons inside the text do not lead to funnel branches — use the buttons under the message for that.
- You cannot replace the media in an already sent message: Telegram only allows editing text and captions.
- There is no drag-and-drop into the block — use the button or a link.
