Short links with UTM tags on craftopen.space
How to shorten a long link with UTM tags right in Craft — for funnel buttons, posts and your profile bio — and see how many times it was clicked.
How to shorten a link with UTM tags#
In short: Craft has its own link shortener. A long link like https://site.com/course?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=bio&utm_campaign=autumn becomes craftopen.space/l/course. UTM tags are kept, and every link has a click counter. Free and unlimited on every plan.
Where to shorten#
- Under a link field — in a funnel button and in Telegram broadcast and post buttons. Paste a long link and “Shorten” appears under the field. After shortening, tap “Insert into field” and the short link replaces the long one.
- In “Dialogs” — if your reply to a subscriber has a long link, “Shorten” appears above the field.
- On the “Short links” page in the left menu — it also lists all your links and how many times each was clicked.
- Through AI — if Craft is connected to Claude or ChatGPT, ask: “shorten the link … with the instagram tag”.
Steps#
- Paste the long link.
- Pick tags: Source (instagram, telegram, youtube…), Medium (bio, post, stories, funnel…) and optionally a Campaign. You can type your own. Tags are optional.
- Want a readable address? Enter a Custom address, e.g.
course. Otherwise a code is picked for you. - Tap “Shorten” — the link is ready to copy or insert into the field.
Good to know#
- Links from other shorteners are not accepted (bit.ly, tinyurl and the like) — paste the original address. That way people always land where you intended.
- Telegram links (
t.me) don't need shortening — the “Shorten” button doesn't appear for them: a short link would stop the button from opening Telegram right away. - A deleted link stops opening everywhere it's used: buttons, posts, bio. People will see “Link not found”.
- Custom address taken means someone already uses it — pick another.
- Clicks are counted with a delay of up to a minute.
FAQ#
Is it paid? No, the shortener is free on every plan.
Where do I see where people came from? The click counter is on the “Short links” page. The breakdown by UTM tags is in your site analytics (Google Analytics and similar).
Can I change where a link leads? Yes: on the “Short links” page tap the pencil next to the link and change the address or tags. The short link stays the same — no need to touch buttons or posts.
