Carousel styles — eight ready-made designs and your own from a picture
How to make a carousel in one of Craft's eight styles with your Claude or ChatGPT, mix the cover and slides, and build your own design from a picture.
Craft has eight carousel styles — the designs of real carousels by the service's author that gathered hundreds of thousands of views. You pick a style, your AI writes the text, and Craft builds the slides itself: it fits the font size, places photos and keeps the margins. Styles work through the MCP connector — in Claude, ChatGPT and other AIs you connected to Craft.
How it works#
- Ask your AI to make a carousel — it will first ask which style and show examples of each.
- Together you choose the topic and the cover headline, then the AI writes the text to fit the chosen style.
- Craft checks the text against carousel rules and saves it to "My carousels". If something is off, the AI gets a list of fixes and corrects it itself.
- The AI puts images into the slides: from your library or new ones based on a reference. The AI can find references on Pinterest: it shows a few options, you pick the numbers, and the chosen ones are saved to your library for free. A new image based on them costs credits, and the AI tells you the price first.
- Finished slides are 1080×1350 PNG files you can download or publish.
Eight styles#
| Style | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Dark | Photo background under a dark veil, white text, gold accent |
| Melting photo | Light slides: the photo on top melts into the background right at the headline |
| Photo cover + cards | Full-bleed photo cover; on slides a rounded photo card moves around |
| Light cover with the hero | Headline on top, the real person below on a light background |
| Objects on cream | No people: objects of the topic on the cover and one large object per slide |
| Text on a bright photo | The headline sits right on a bright photo, no darkening |
| Cards + text wrap | Photo on the side, text wraps around it |
| Photo between paragraphs | A full-width photo between paragraphs of text |
Mix styles and change details#
You can put the cover of one style on the slides of another — tell your AI, for example: "cover like the light one with the hero, slides like cards with text wrap". Colors, font, text size, photo position and corner rounding change the same way, in words. Nothing to drag around.
Slide formats#
Any slide except the cover can be a format instead of plain text: tweet, note, chat, big number, checklist, before / after, table, bar chart, timeline, Q&A, review. The format uses the colors and fonts of the chosen style. Just tell the AI: "make slide three a chat with a client" or "show the growth as a chart".
💡 One to three formats per carousel. A big number works for a shocking fact, a chat or tweet for a live scene, before / after for a result, a checklist for "save this". If every slide is a format, the carousel loses its rhythm.
⚠️ Each format has its own requirements. A chart needs 2–7 bars with numbers, a chat needs two people, a timeline needs 3–6 events. If something is missing, Craft won't save the slide and tells you what to add.
Seamless panorama#
Several slides in a row can share one wide picture: as you swipe, the landscape continues from slide to slide. Tell the AI, for example: "make slides 2–4 a panorama with mountains". Text on a panorama is white, and the picture is softly darkened at the top and bottom so it stays readable. The cover is not part of the panorama.
Your own design from a picture#
Send your AI a picture of a design you like. It will pick the closest style and settings to make it look similar. If Craft can't do some detail yet, the AI will say so — and your request is recorded so we can add it for everyone.
Like the result? Tell the AI "save this as my style" and give it a name. The style appears next to the eight ready-made ones, and next time it's enough to say "make it in my beige style". You can delete a style you no longer need — carousels already made in it won't change.
When ready-made isn't enough#
If your design can't be built from styles or formats, the AI can lay out the slide itself — inside the Craft frame: the size, the style's fonts and colors, the handle and slide number stay in place. Craft checks such a slide automatically: text doesn't run off the edge, margins are at least 40 pixels, letters are no smaller than 24 pixels. Until it's clean, the AI gets a list of fixes and shows you the slide only when everything fits.
⚠️ Only images from your Craft library work in a custom layout. Images linked from other sites won't load. Save the image to your library first — for example, one found on Pinterest.
Editing in Craft#
A styled carousel opens from "My carousels": slide images on top, the text of each slide below. Edit the text and press "Save and redraw". The style itself is changed through the AI.
⚠️ The text has to fit the style. Each style has its own word budget per slide. If the text doesn't fit, Craft shows which slide to shorten and by how much — don't publish the slides before that.
💡 What photo to use. The light cover with the hero needs a photo of a person on a plain light background with empty space on top; "text on a bright photo" needs a bright photo with sky or a wall at the top. On a dark photo the headline is hard to read in these styles.
Not available yet#
- Styles work through the MCP connector and in the Craft chat: they come first in the carousel settings under the message box. They will come to the content factory next.
- Funnel endings from templates are not attached to styles: the call to action is the last slide of the carousel.
- The old templates stay and work as before — for cheap high-volume output.
